The property

Gransjøberget Skog's forest and wilderness properties, all together 3 200 hectares (about 12000 acres), are located in the eastern area of Elverum municipality with the summerfarm in the central part. The property is well taken care of through several generations. You'll find various landscape like spruce and pine forests, marshes and heathery moors. The highest top, Gransjøberget, is 700 m above sea level.

The property is administered from the home farm in Hernes, just outside Elverum. The present owner took over the farm in the year 2000. The houses here were also in very poor condition, and needed a complete restoration programme.  This project was completed in 2002. Restoration of the cowshed, stable and outhouse are now given preference. At present time there are no animals on the farm, but hay is grown and sold to neighbouring farmers. When restoration work is completed, we can also offer accommodation at the home farm.

As you can see we are pretty busy. For this reason we have engaged a forestry engineer who, together with the owner, is responsible for the management of the estate.
